With a history that takes almost 50 years, Sonae is composed by a group of companies in the most diverse areas. Having already a well-supported set up in retail, the company faces new challenges regarding the search for new technological platform implementations. Having a large network of stores with local systems for the control and distribution of print services was proving inefficient, Konica Minolta provided a centralised solution, where now Sonea’s information systems department is in charge for all the technological infrastructure of the Group’s retail area.
“I would say that the main goals we had for the implementation of this technology were achieved, namely the reduction of operating and staff costs because we were able to take out a number of technology in the stores that no longer provided the level of robustness and that we needed for our users. In fact, we had technology that sometimes ended up disrupting the print service for our end users, and we now have a much more reliable service that causes fewer problems”
